Lawmaker Mourns Mother Of Katsina Commissioner

KATSINA – The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Interior, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed, has expressed profound grief over the death of Hajiya Rakiya Yaya, mother of the Katsina State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Hamza Suleiman Faskari.

In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Sardauna Francis on Friday in Katsina, the member representing Musawa/Mutazu Federal Constituency expressed condolences to the Commissioner and the entire family over the demise of his mother, describing her death as a great loss.

Ahmed, while paying a tribute to late Rakiya who died on Thursday at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria, after a brief illness at the age of 85, explained that the octogenarian epitomised the best spirit of human being while on earth.

The APC lawmaker said the deceased was an exemplary mother and a virtuous woman with impeccable integrity who will be remembered for her selfless service to her immediate community and the state at large.

“I am deeply saddened because there is no greater loss than that of a mother. I would like to express my deepest condolences for the passing of your beloved mother. I hope that you will find solace and comfort in the good deeds she left behind”, he said.

He prayed Almighty Allah grant her soul Aljannah Firdaus and give her family, friends and the entire people of Faskari Local Government the strength and the fortitude to bear the grievous loss.
